Beloved Star Pat Finn, Known For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.
Stateside entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in beloved programs including Friends, "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has succumbed at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in Los Angeles this Monday after undergoing cancer treatment since 2022, per reports.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his family shared in a announcement.
They added that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".
An Extensive TV Career
His debut TV appearance was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the titular character's brother.
He subsequently landed a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.
He played the part of Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a host who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous well-known programs, including:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- "House"
He was most recognized for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
His film credits encompass It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
A Life in Improv
Beyond his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a comedy group of six named Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn guided, supported, and advised many learners over the years and it's nearly impossible to find a person anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.
In a tribute, colleague and actor Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," he shared on social media.
The actor is leaves behind his wife Donna, his children, and his family.
