Approximately 55,000 families have currently been affected by the weather, with their items and shelters destroyed.

Intense rains over the recent period have worsened the already dire situation of the hundreds of thousands of evacuated Palestinians in the territory, as reported by aid groups.

"Horrendous" Weather Creates Serious Dangers

A representative detailed the previous night's conditions as "awful", with downpours so heavy that up to 15cm (6in) of water accumulated on the terrain.

"The recent weather was truly difficult for the residents. The storms were so intense... And the winds were so strong," noted the spokesperson.

Officials express grave anxiety that children residing in tents in soaked clothing will contract hypothermia and various sicknesses.

Deaths and Significant Damage

Health authorities have confirmed that one baby has died from exposure and a minimum of 11 other people have died in structural failures due to the severe weather.

Additional accounts indicate a greater fatality count. Spokespeople reported that numerous structures had totally fallen and dozens had been partly destroyed.

  • Almost 55,000 families impacted by flooding.
  • More than 40 emergency shelters inundated.
  • Countless residents required to find new shelter.

Assistance Distribution Considered Inadequate

Groups have escalated shipments of tents, warm covers and garments following the halt in hostilities started, but they stress there is still not enough aid reaching those in need.

"Agencies are operating tirelessly to deliver that relief and to distribute it, but the size of the requirements is so enormous that we still have a great number of individuals and minors who are truly struggling each evening," cautioned one official.

Ongoing Concerns and Agreement Terms

The subsequent part of the agreement involves proposals for the reconstruction of Gaza, along with political arrangements, the removal of personnel, and other provisions.

Aid bodies have stressed the imperative for "expanded and ongoing relief to respond to pressing and ongoing needs."

The conflict was triggered by an offensive in the autumn of 2023. Subsequent campaigns have resulted in a substantial number of casualties in the region, as per health ministry figures.
