New England equaled their best victory streak from the Tom Brady era as they overcame AFC East opponents the Jets 27-14 in professional football

Rookie TreVeyon Henderson shone brightly with three touchdowns as the New England squad claimed an eight-game winning streak for the first time since iconic QB Brady's last year with the franchise in 2019

Signal-caller Drake Maye threw for 281 passing yards and a score, connecting on 25 of 34 passes

The win extends the Patriots lead at the top of the division as they improved to nine wins and two defeats, with the Jets bottom after slipping to two victories and eight defeats

The visitors had taken the lead at their home field with QB Justin Fields rushing for a short rushing score to cap the Jets' first possession

But the Patriots answered in the second period as Henderson ran in two seven-yard touchdowns before the running back caught a pass from Maye at the back of the endzone in the middle of the third period to extend the lead to 21 to 7

"That was a big time for him rising to the challenge, and it's been fantastic for him to keep getting these reps," Maye commented on the rookie. "He wants to be outstanding."

Justin Fields found Metchie toward the end of the third quarter to reduce the lead for the Jets but Andy Borregales kicked a two field goals in the fourth quarter as the home side closed out the victory
