Outrage as Beloved South African DJ Gunned Down in Johannesburg.
A prominent South African media personality and entertainer has been murdered in the nation's economic hub Johannesburg, causing national outrage across a country grappling with persistent crime.
Warrick Stock, who went by the name DJ Warras, was shot and killed in the city centre on a Tuesday afternoon.
Police said the forty-year-old media personality was approached by a trio of assailants, with one began shooting at him before running away.
The purpose of the shooting has not been established and no one has been arrested are in custody, as per the official statement.
How It Happened
Authorities revealed that Stock was attacked as he was exiting a premises near the city center landmark.
He had spent several hours at the building overseeing the setup of security systems, which had been illegally inhabited by unidentified individuals, as per local media.
"The report indicates the victim was approached by three unidentified men after he parked his car, and they opened fire at him before fleeing the scene on foot," authorities confirmed.
Security camera video reportedly captured a suspect with dreadlocks and clad in what appeared to be a security uniform shooting on Stock before making his escape.
The DJ sought to escape after he was wounded but succumbed to his injuries a short distance away.
Officials noted that Stock had an weapon on his person and nothing was taken during the attack.
