Paramount Skydance Will Cut Approximately 2,000 US Jobs – News

Skydance Paramount will start significant workforce reductions beginning on 27 October, eliminating approximately 2,000 US jobs under a budget-saving initiative totaling $2bn overseen by new chief executive David Ellison.

The workforce reduction follow the union of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized this past August worth $8.4bn.

Additional overseas workforce reductions are likely, as the firm planning to announce all specifics during its third quarter earnings report on 10 November.

Previous updates stated the company aimed to eliminate between 2,000 and 3,000 positions before the start of November.

As of December 2024, the company had almost 18,600 permanent and temporary staff plus 3,500 project-based staff.

The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
