Two Individuals Accused with Jail Killing of Former Lostprophets Frontman Ian Watkins

Two men have been formally charged with murder following the jailhouse death of one-time Lostprophets vocalist and convicted child sex offender Ian Watkins.

The two men, Rashid Gedel (25) and Samuel Dodsworth (43) have both been charged with murder and will appear before Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, per investigating officers.

Watkins, 48, was in the midst of a 29-year prison term at HMP Wakefield, plus an additional six years on license, after pleading guilty to multiple sexual crimes among them the tried rape of a very young child.

Watkins was arrested after the execution of a narcotics search warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a substantial collection of electronic devices including computers, phones and drives were confiscated.
